About Me

I am a Physiotherapist, Pro triathlete and accredited triathlon coach with formal training in conducting running assessments and bike fits.

I started working as a Physiotherapist in the UK in 2005. In 2008 I moved to Cairns, Australia, where I have worked predominantly in private physiotherapy clinics. I currently treat a wide variety of patients including athletes, and run movement re-education classes using pilates equipment.

I competed in my first triathlon in 2014 at age 30, and my first full Ironman in 2017. I began triathlon coaching in 2018, and began racing professionally in 2021.

As a self coached beginner age group triathlete I won my age group at Ironman Cairns and raced Kona over 2 consecutive years in 2017 and 2018. I placed 8th in my age group in Hawaii in 2018, just 4 weeks after placing 9th in my age group at the Olympic distance ITU triathlon world championship.

From 2019 I spent 2.5 years coached by Brett Sutton, and learned a tremendous amount from him as arguably the best triathlon coach ever. I benefitted from training with Brett and his squad of professional triathletes in St Moritz, Switzerland and on the Sunshine Coast in Australia.

In 2022 I was coached for a year by Cam Watt, and spent time training with his squad in Brisbane, who at the time were the most successful triathlon squad in Australia.

I believe my strength as a coach comes from my personal experiences of training and racing, coupled with over 20 years of working as a physiotherapist with a special interest in optimising movement patterns, and up to date pain science. This has developed my understanding of the intricacies of how the brain, neuroimmune system and neuromuscular system work together, and how to manipulate the body's experience of pain and rate of perceived exertion to enhance performance.

Since 2018 I have coached multiple Ironman 70.3 world championship qualifiers, Ironman world championship qualifiers, Ironman 70.3 age group champions, and Australian and international age group representatives. I have guided multiple athletes to significant personal best performances, including after long bouts of being unable to train due to injury.

The highlights of my personal triathlon achievements include:

  • 2nd professional female Ironman Western Australia 2021
  • 4th professional female Ironman 70.3 Sunshine Coast 2021
